Our 1st bag drop off
Today was the day of our 1st Bereavement bag drop off, This was at Stepping Hill, a place that holds a place in my heart, I was born in this hospital and trained as a Nurse at this Hospital, I also had my eldest daughter Ava here 14years ago and then Lila 6 years ago. So it seemed fitting that this hospital was the first on the list. I arranged with a Nurse from the pediatric team to drop them off today and made my way to the Treehouse ward. It was slightly daunting getting on the ward, the last time I was on a children’s ward was with my little Lila, but I got my big girls pants on and thought of Lila.
Fourteen bags were dropped off, and the team of lovely Nurses were really happy and grateful for the donation. I met with Ruth who advised that they were very lucky they didn’t get many deaths on the ward and these bags would last a long time, but they would liaise with Accident and emergency to let them know if they need any they had them.
