Manchester Children’s hospital

On the 15th October 24, we met up with the bereavement Nurse who cared for our daughter after she had passed. She had to come to the Children’s hospital for a postmortem and Claire the bereavement Nurse looked after her and us. What a caring, knowledgeable lady. It was lovely to return to give the hospital back something after they looked after our daughter with dignity and compassion. We spent a good hour talking to Claire about our grief journey and plans for the future. Claire said she had noticed a big void when it came to sibling support and she was in the process of applying for more funding so siblings could be supported. She was really pleased with the content in the bags and was awaiting to do a presentation to try and get some more funding for sibling support, she said she was going to use our bags and Lila’s story in her presentation. Whilst we were there we got invited to a remembrance service for our daughter that the hospital does every year. Although its a sad year we were honored to be invited to remember our little Lila.
